Authors notes: I don't own Ranma 1/2, I just found some free time and decided to write this. The Character Yanni is borrowed from my friends personal manga. All other newly created characters are mine unless specifically said otherwise.
"I've got you this time Saotome!" A voice warned. Laying down the wooden piece, he looked at the panda infront of him. "Lets see you beat that!" Soun Tendo told his friend. The two were enjoying there usual game of ??? (Help me, what is it they keep playing?).
The Panda made his next move, winning the game. "Hmm, I should have seen that coming."
"Father, you have a letter." A voice called as they were setting up to play another round. Kasumi opened the door and gave her father a rolled up piece of paper. "Mr. Saotome a free sample of a new cereal came in the mail as well."
The panda grabbed the box. [Thank you Kasumi]
"No, It can't be now, it just can't be. NOOO!" and with that Soun began cry and have a nervous breakdown. "Father what is it?" Kasumi asked. She picked up the letter.
"Oh dear." She looked up. "I can't understand a word written on here."
"I've got you this time Saotome!" A voice warned. Ranma turned his head. *Not five minuets into lunch and he's ready for a fight. well, this shouldn't take to long.* He dodged Kuno's bokken and kicked him in the face. "You will pay fiend!" Came his muffled voice. Just as they were about to make there next attack, a dark black hole appeared in the middle of the room. a young man stepped out, and waved his hand in a bored way at Kuno. Kuno was about to say something when he flew into the wall.
Ranma sized up the odd boy. He was about as tall as Kuno, but with not as much muscle. He had buzzed off brown hair, and an evil look in his green eyes. He turned and looked at Ranma, and Ranma found he couldn't move. "Your interesting. If I didn't have other business here, I would play with you instead." He scanned the room. "He's not here.... not yet, but he will be."
The black hole opened again and the boy disappeared. Ranma, finally able to move, stumbled to the ground. "What the heck was that all about?" He asked to no one in particular.
"RANMA PREPARE TO DIE!" A voice called interrupting his thoughts.
"It only took you three weeks this time Ryouga, I'm impressed!"
Nabikki had just walked through the door with Ranma and Akane fighting close behind her when she heard the familiar wailing's of her father. "Hey Kasumi, what's daddy upset about now?"
Nabikki was starting to worry about her father. He seemed to lose it over nothing these days. "I'm not sure." Kasumi answered. "He saw this letter he got today and just started to cry." Kasumi handed Nabikki the letter. She didn't know what to make of it.
"Kasumi, Nabikki, come here, I have something to tell you." Soun managed between sobs. Everyone came closer. Soun sighed as began to speak. (Start Flashback)
It was along time ago when Saotome and I trained under The Master. We had gone many places and seen and done many things. Eventually we ended up in America. We traveled around doing as the master told us. (Pictures of Soun, Genma, and Happosai stealing stuff appear.) One day we came across an odd looking village in a forest. We could tell it wasn't a Native American one, because most of them were gone by this time. We looked around in interest until we found a scroll. Master Happosai opened it, and tried to read the writing. When he could not read it, he decided it must contain an incredible technique. So he stole it.
After a month of trying to read it he gave up and ordered me to burn it as a fire starter. Seeing as we needed a fire to cook food I did this without argument.(Scene goes to Soun, kneeling as the scroll burns and starts to glow). Nothing seemed to happen when it burned.
Eventually I returned to Japan, married and started a family. Soon after Akane had been born and we lost your mother though, (Soun is seen crying in the dojo, until a large clap of thunder is heard. A figure then enters the dojo.) "Wh- who are you?"
"The scroll, you burned the scroll." It took me a moment to understand what he was talking about. "That scroll was the one thing that could bring happiness to my master." It turned out that the village had been a village of mages, and the scroll held a spell that would have brought the mans masters deceased love back to life. He was so devoted to his master, that her happiness was his happiness. "I'm not going to kill you, no, you took my masters happiness away, so I will take yours."
"No, not my children, please leave them alone, There all I have left and I have made a promise to a friend to engage one of my three daughters to his son."
The man seemed to think for a moment. "I will make a deal with you then, I to, have a son. I will spare you children's life if you will do the same for me as you have for your friends. If not..." Soun bowed his head.
"Very well."
"I will send word to you when I bring my son to meet his future bride." (End Flashback)
"So the reason I broke down is because I have received a letter, in the same language as that scroll, that says the man is coming with his son."
Soun finished. "Which means, that since Akane and Ranma are allready engaged, unless either Kasumi or Nabikki marry this boy, something terrible will happen!" Genma exclaimed.
"You have no idea!" A voice interupted all of them.
"It's him!" Soun Wailed.
"Yes, I am Raven, and this..." He said stepping aside to reveal a young man in a blue chinese shirt and black pants with blonde hair and blue eyes, "Is my son, Yanni."
